北原　圭 （きたはら　けい）

分子生物学、微生物学などを専門にしています。遺伝子の新しい機能を見つけたり、新種の細菌を発見したり、インドの細菌研究所で下痢の原因となる微生物の研究をしたりしてきました。

人間総合科学大学では、微生物が心身の健康に対してどのように相互作用しているのかについて明らかにすることを目指したいと思っています。

本学科は通信制ということもあり、自宅である程度の文献や資料を集める必要があります。集めた文献・資料を基に研究を行う「方法」を伝授していきます。

インド、コンゴ、フィリピン、タイなどの研究者と共同研究をしてきました。インドには４年間駐在しました。発展途上国に興味のある方、将来移住したい方にアドバイスできます。
